My name is Zara (b) - please adopt me

Meet 5 year old Zara B

Zara is a lovely five year old girl, who is all black apart from a small white patch on her chest. On first meeting her, she was excitable but friendly. She had a tendency to jump up, but this was to give kisses and get petted. She soon settled down once we were in and had said hello to her.

She is a friendly girl, who was happy to go for a walk without her owner coming with us. Zara does pull on the lead, but she did release the tension if we stopped walking. I believe that this will be easily trained out of her with a bit of patience.

The owner told us that Zara can be reactive to other dogs while out walking, she barks and pulls towards them, but not in an aggressive manner and only wants to play.

This sounds like it barrier frustration. She is very nosey while she is on a walk, wanting to know everything that is going on around her.

Zara suffers from separation anxiety and potential owners need to be aware of this. The current owner has tried crate training her, but when left alone she can get herself out of a metal crate faster than Houdini.

She has also learned to open doors inside the house. When left alone, Zara gets freaked out and has damaged the letter box and wall beside the front door.

Zara currently lives with a child and another dog and she is excellent with them.

Zara would be ideal for an experienced forever home, with someone who can give her the attention and training that she needs. We think that she has the potential to shine at something like working trials or agility. She is an intelligent and energetic girl who would benefit from both mental and physical stimulation.
