My name is Ilach - please adopt me

Ileach (pronounced E-Lach) is a 9 year old long coat. He has lived quite a sheltered life up to now. He has been living with his owner in a quiet, rural environment with little contact with people outside the extended family or with other dogs. He has never lived with another dog.

He has not been used to travelling in the car.

Even though slightly older, he is in very good health and is active and playful. His favourite game is to play with a ball with his family. He loves the water and being in the local rivers and loch.

He is good in the house, is not destructive and can be left for periods. He has not chased livestock but it's thought he might if given the opportunity. He is fine with the family's ducks and chickens though.

He responds well to basic commands, seems gentle and well mannered but does pull on the lead.

Ileach met the volunteer in the garden. He immediately picked up the ball to play with his current owner and was disinterested in the volunteer although he was aware of them. He did not bark or show any concern at their presence. He has been known to bark at unfamiliar visitors and cars.

Ileach is looking for a new home due to his elderly owner’s health issues. He is currently living with another member of the family but unfortunately it is not possible to accommodate him in the house. This can only be a temporary arrangement and the family are unable to spend as much time with him as he needs. He is looking for a new home to spend his twilight years.
