My name is Lucy - please adopt me


Lucy is a gorgeous smart dog whose enthusiasm for life belies her age. She greeted the volunteer by barking but after a good sniff and a treat she was quite happy and wandered off. She took treats nicely but sometimes she needs to be reminded.

Lucy currently lives with another dog who tells her off when she annoys him. She loves to play and would play all day with her frisbee but you have to curb it as she would keep going.

While Lucy has never been to classes she came across as obedient and she did as she was told. Classes may be an idea for her new home as they can also help re-enforce the bond. She currently lives with children, who she can be protective of, but as normal any children would have to be over ten.

When out on a walk we didn't see any other dogs and though there was very slight pulling on the lead this was easily checked. Off lead she walked alongside until she was released to go ahead.

Lucy can bark when left alone for long periods and will also bark at people passing.

While Lucy has never been in a car the volunteer was informed she has been on public transport without any issue.

Lucy's owners circumstances have changed and they are very reluctantly having to rehome her. Could this lovely lady be an addition to your family?

German Shepherds don't do well in kennels, we would love to have warm foster homes to offer instead of cold concrete kennels. ALL food and expenses will be covered by the rescue.
