My name is Mako - please adopt me

Here is what our volunteer had to see about Mako:

Mako is 4 year old, neutered,long-coat boy with a lovely nature. He greeted me with quiet curiosity and then, smelling treats in my pocket, was fairly insistent I should share the tasty morsels with him. I was advised he can occasionally be protective of his home with people he doesnt know.

His owner has had to put some work into Mako, to shape him into the well-mannered lad that he is now. During my visit, Mako was told to go and lie in his bed which he did.

Mako enjoys regular good long walks but is generally kept on-lead (he wears a halti but doesn't pull too much when just on a plain collar). There was an incident in the past with a cyclist (rescue will give full details to anyone interested in meeting Mako) He does get off lead when there is no-one else around and he particularly enjoys river or seaside walks where he loves to "dive" for stones to pick up and play with.

Mako has some doggy friends with whom he plays with but in typical GSD fashion he can be a bit rough, forgetting his size. He is also loved by all the humans with whom he comes into contact.

Mako’s owner believes he would chase cats if they were to run but Mako has been around horses/ sheep and shown no adverse reaction.

Mako’s owners have made a difficult decision to rehome him as their hours at work have changes and Mako is not getting the attention and companionship he deserves.

Could this gorgeous boy be the dog right for you?
