Life with a GSD
In this section of our website we have attempted to put together as much information possible to help you enjoy life with your German Shepherd. We have tried to cover everything from diet and health issues to training clubs and dog behaviourists.
Did you know? Some pounds still have a descruction policy. Give your dog the best change possible if he gets lost, please micro-chip or tattoo your dog. For micro-chipping please see your vet, for tattooists see our link below.
As you know the care and welfare of dogs is very important to us and an essential part of this is when owners take the trouble to learn the proper way to train their dogs. In addition to making life better and calmer for both owner and dog, a well trained dog is a good advertisement for responsible ownership. A must for a German Shepherd owner!
We have been contacted by David Dee, author of a training manual that includes some of the secrets of "dog whispering" (or "dog listening" as some people call it). We believe this method of training can make a substantial contribution to the control of a dog especially where owners are having difficulties. For more information click the link below.
The rescue receives a commission on all copies sold via our special link, so please make sure you use our special link if you are purchasing a copy!

In The Beginning
When God had made the earth and sky, the flowers and the trees
He then made all the animals and all the birds and bees
And when his work was finished, not one was quite the same
He said “I’ll walk this earth of mine and give each one a name”
And so he travelled land and sea, and everywhere he went
A little creature followed Him, until its strength was spent
When all were named upon the earth and in the sky and sea
The little creature said “Dear Lord there’s not one left for me”
The Father smiled and softly said
“I’ve left you to the end
I’ve turned my own name back to front and called you
DOG my Friend”
