Bowie

It was Sept 2018 when we had to make the heart-breaking decision to have our beloved Cairo (previously Axle) put to sleep. We adopted Cairo from GSRS. He was our 2nd GSD. At the time of Cairo's passing, we said no more dogs.

After a few months the house was so quiet and strange not to see a dog lying somewhere on the floor. We made a decision to visit the website just to have a look. We told Dorothy we were not in a great rush to find a new friend. Dorothy mentioned a few dogs to us but none of them seemed to be right for us, then we got a call to say a white shepherd was about to become available would we be interested.

We made the decision to travel to meet Chris the volunteer who would bring Bowie to meet us. When Bowie came out of the van I was amazed at how white he really was. Chris gave us Bowie's history and said he found no issues at all with Bowie which I could not believe at the time. After spending about ' hour with Chris and Bowie our mind was made up. Chris told us to go home and make your decision. On the way home our minds were made up. We phoned Chris the next day and told him we would adopt Bowie.

We arranged to go back the following week to bring Bowie home. Chris kept joking with us not to adopt Bowie because he wanted to keep him.

After only a couple of weeks living with us I can honestly say he had settled in so easily Carolyn, Dorothy and Chris were absolutely brilliant with us, we can't thank them enough for what they have done.

We have now had Bowie 4 months and life again is great.
