Milly

I’ve been in my new home for 20 months, as my previous owners sadly became ill and were not able to keep me in the life I’ve been accustomed to. So they reached out and the rescue found me a new forever home for me.

I joined them when I was 9 years old a gentle and quiet old lady who loves to cuddle with a teddy……don’t be fooled by my age or sweet face!

I like to alert my new humans and doggie family of random noises I hear when in the garden or the house, it’s a good game as the others join in, we have a good sing song together and sometimes a race to see where the noise is coming from, I always win the race I’m still fit and nimble for my age (now 10).

I wasn’t that keen on the treats the others seem to be used to but after a few weeks, turns out they aren’t that bad and I’ve got the humans trained to deliver them to me instead of going all the way to them – meals on wheels, is the way forward for us golden oldies!

I go to training classes where I do most of the exercises but as I’m the old lady I tend to do what I want – all the other humans call me a little bear, as I tend to bounce around and be cute in class. I had a go at man trailing and got the idea but seems an awful lot of energy trying to find a stranger when all I need is my mum who is following me.

I’ve been on two holidays which I have enjoyed as I love the car/van, we have gone to lots of different forests, beaches (not a fan of getting my feet wet so stayed out of the sea) and seen some landmarks but most of all I’ve enjoyed exploring and bonding with my new family.

I might be an old lady but I still have plenty of life and fun left in me to teach the younger ones how it’s done, looking forward to more adventures!

So please don’t dismiss the oldies when you’re looking for a rescue dog, we have a lot to offer and we are easy to live with and we need your love and support just as much as the youngsters.
