Bonnie (A)

Bonnie is a small 3-year-old black and tan short-coated girl who is lively and friendly and loves to chase a ball. She barked as our volunteer approached the house but was happy to let her in and then greeted enthusiastically to make friends.

Bonnie is house-trained, she is not possessive about food or toys.  She can be left for short periods and has never chewed anything that she shouldn’t. Bonnie currently lives with a child and is very good with him (as ever we will only re-home with children aged 10-plus).

Bonnie knows all her basic commands and some tricks, but she is not lead-trained and does pull very strongly so new owners would need to work on this. She is highly reactive to any dogs she sees while she is on the lead but will ignore them once she is off the lead and playing with her ball in the park.

Bonnie travels OK in the car but she does bark at any dog she sees.

Bonnie is a much-loved pet who is being re-homed because her owners, despite trying various training options, are unable to cope with her pulling and lead reactivity which means she is not getting the exercise that a dog of her age needs.
