Holly

It was October 30th 2017 that my wife and I had to have our lovely German Shepherd (Chelsea) put to sleep, we had got her as a puppy and she lived for 12 years, sadly she developed a tumour in her chest cavity which was inoperable, The whole family was in bits when we lost her, she was the most loyal and gentle dog that we could ever wish for, a pet who could never be replaced.
After a few months we could not bear the emptiness in our lives, which revolved totally around Chelsea. We agreed that we would try a rescue dog, rather than getting another new pup.

We looked on most sites on the internet for another German Shepherd, it was really saddening to see so many unwanted beautiful pets

I decided to contact German Shepherd Rescue Scotland. It was Dorothy that answered the phone, we spoke for some time and she gave me a lot of good advice.

The next step was our home visit from Sheila at which we explained that we had 3 grandchildren and that we required a small dog with a soft nature.

Before Sheila left she asked that if we were successful, would we be interested in a small German Shepherd called Holly who has a great nature, but that she only had 3 legs.

The first time we met Holly we could tell how great a nature she had, within minutes she was working to command, in fact her past owner should be very proud of the level of obedience Holly shows.

We adopted Holly in March, she settled in very quickly and we love her very much, she is very good with other dogs and children, just like Chelsea used to be. We could never have imagined getting another dog that we would feel the same about.

Now one year on, Holly has filled the hole in our lives and made our family complete once again. I would like to thank Dorothy and Sheila for giving us the opportunity to adopt such a wonderful pet.

Holly success
